I firmly believe that any job teaches you something valuable. I have waitressed, was employed at a title company and worked for many years for a really great lawyer. After cleaning houses for about twelve years, however, I wanted to do something more. As the house-cleaner, I could see all of the errands and chores in someone’s home that needed attention. I cleaned around the Goodwill piles, saw office work pile up, closets that could be straightened, pets that needed walking, the lists went on and on. I had gained the trust of many customers over the years as well. I had keys to most of their homes and access to virtually the whole house. Everything seemed to be in place. I was already keenly aware of how important over-the-top customer service is and the absolute necessity to be loyal, honest and discrete. I just needed some training in the actual business.
I began with an on-line class where I got my certification. I joined a message board of over 500 other veteran and new errand runners that have given me invaluable information about the industry. I earned another certificate from Triangle Concierge who is the absolute pioneer of the whole industry. I joined the International Concierges and Errand Runners Association (ICEA). I have read books, books and more books on errand running and concierges from any and every one that I can find writing on the subject. I am sure there is much more to be learned as well, but time will have to teach me the rest. So, Double-Time Errands is finally born.
I hope to bring all of my values, training and “knack for getting things done” to work for you. I hope you enjoy using Double-Time Errands where I can double your time all in the same day!
Best regards,
Wendy
